There are lots of fun things to do in Zermatt. Many kilometers of pistes invite you to snowboard and ski in the winterly Matter Valley. The majestic Matterhorn in the background beguiles the senses every day anew. Also in snow-blown weather, when the literally outstanding mountain is hidden behind a white wall of clouds, you feel its powerful presence. But I don't want to tell you about skiing and snowboarding yet.

Wanderung auf den Napf
An einem schönen Wintertag unternahmen wir eine tolle Wanderung von Luthern Bad auf den Napf. Wir suchten ein Ausflugsziel heraus, das gut in einem Tag zu bewältigen ist. Von früheren Ausflügen wussten wir natürlich um die Schönheit des Emmentals und der Napfregion. Hier konnten wir nicht fehl gehen. Dazu kam, dass wir uns einen Juwel von einem Tag ausgesucht hatten.

After 9 months of road tripping through the USA and Mexico, we are back at Bananatree in the Mango Village in mid-March 2018. Our cottage already had first guests via Airbnb, generously hosted by Karina and Alejo.

Road Trip USA New Mexico to California
When we arrive in Santa Fe, we pass the 20'000 mile mark. We have been on this road trip through the US and eastern Canada for almost 5 months. We feel it. Slowly we are tired of driving and are looking forward to the end of the road.

East Coast to Texas
Jetzt kommt eines der Highlights dieser Reise, zumindest für mich. Schon das erste Mal, als ich ein Foto von diesem Wesen erhascht habe, wusste ich, da will ich hin! Ganz in der Nähe der von Charlston, der Hauptstadt South Carolinas, steht sie. Doch als wir ankommen, stehen wir vor verschlossenen Türen. Sie wurde eingezäunt. Nicht um Eintritt zu verlangen, sondern zum Schutz vor Vandalismus.

A Stroll through New York
We crawl through the long traffic jam towards the big metropolis. As we enter Manhattan, I notice a police car that has been following us for a while. Then the time comes. Sirens wail, and they pull us over. Inspection. Our Californian license plates have attracted attention once again.
